ALUMNI IN ACTION

Travis Yuzik, Billings, Class of 2023

Travis Yuzik, Billings,  Class of 2023

A Letter from Travis

Before being introduced to Leadership Montana, I would describe myself as an introvert. I afforded no space or consideration in my life for the possibilities of anything other than introversion. But something happened when I was welcomed into and became actively involved in this amazing community. That inclusion and immersion into the Leadership Montana experience made me evolve from being “just” an introvert to an introvert who looked forward to and sought out connection and friendship within this wonderful community.

Leadership Montana helped me to connect with people who share a love for Montana and who want to make a difference in our communities. The Alumni that I have met and continue to meet at events and gatherings are all adding a flavor or spice to my life that was previously missing. I have replaced small talk with real talk. I listen differently and have become comfortable with the concept of embracing perspectives and ideas that differ from my own. When I do see a fellow Alumni, the reconnection is genuine and moving.

There will be an alumni survey that will be coming out in early February. This is an opportunity for you to let Leadership Montana know what your experience has been like and provide feedback on what would keep you connected, engaged, and interacting with other LMT Alumni at events across this great state. To my fellow GSD 2023 classmates, thank you for what you have brought into my life. To all the other Leadership Montana alumni I have not yet met, I am so very excited to get to know you. See you out there.
