CONNECTING FOR IMPACT

Hi Friends,

I’ve logged hundreds of miles this summer traveling around our beautiful state to meet with staff, our board of governors, alumni, legislators and to welcome new Flagship class members about to begin their LMT journey. The thread that always runs through the conversations is one of connection; to our state, to each other as alumni, and to the networks we have all created through this organization.

Listening to people tell stories about their networks and how they support each other through friendship, advice, and problem-solving is inspiring. I’ve heard about community projects alumni have created or are working on and about the challenges they are facing together.

As we celebrate our 20th year, we are often asked by donors and others wanting to understand our work about our impact. Our mission is to develop leaders committed to building a better Montana through knowledge, collaboration, and civility. They ask, “How are we building a better Montana?” Essentially, where is the proof that your leadership training “works”? I fully believe that the proof is displayed by all of you, our amazing alumni, working in your communities, creating positive changes in your workplaces, and using the skills you learned to continue making meaningful connections.
