Message from Executive Director, Kelly Heaton
Hello LMT Family,
As we welcome a New Year, there is a common leadership practice to select your word(s) of the year to guide your intentions throughout the next 12 months. At our Board meeting last week, we selected Process, Commitment, and Transparency are our “north stars” for 2024. My personal words for the year are simplify and rhythm. What are yours?
In the spirit of transparency, I wanted to take a moment to give you an update on our fundraising campaign. WOW, you all stepped up! By year end, we have raised $202,800 from Corporations and Foundations, compared to $147,500 last year and $77,129 from individuals, compared to $14,297 last year. The LMT team is overwhelmed with gratitude by your generosity! We are halfway to our goal, THANK YOU! We will be focusing on securing more foundation grants, individual gifts, and hope you will consider renewing your $100 annual Alumni membership. At least 10% of membership funds raised will go towards scholarships, ensuring that the gift of leadership is passed on and our alumni network continues to grow.
Speaking of our growing alumni network, check out our newly finished 2022-23 Annual Report highlighting our work over the last fiscal year. This includes introducing our three graduating classes last June; Flagship, Masters, and our Inaugural Indigenous Immersion Initiative.
And last but not least, an announcement. In addition to the Flagship class of 2025 recruitment (applications open until February 29), we are recruiting for our Board of Governors. If you are interested in serving on the LMT Board, please click here to fill out an application and submit by March 15. New board terms begin in July. If you have questions, reach out!
I hope you all are having a great start to 2024, I’m excited to see where this year will take us!
Onward and upward,
Kelly Heaton
