Reconnecting and Building What’s Next-Together

Message from Executive Director Kelly Heaton

As we move into a new program year, I’m feeling especially grateful for the people who make up the Leadership Montana community.

It was wonderful to see so many of you at our Flagship Welcome events across the state. Thank you to everyone who joined us to reconnect, welcome a new class of leaders, and spend time with fellow alumni. There is something special about gathering with people who share a love for Montana and a belief that we can accomplish more when we listen, work together, and lead with respect.

Earlier this month, our board and staff came together for a strategic planning session and identified two important goals for the year ahead: continuing to build our financial sustainability and strengthening our connection with LMT alumni.

Both priorities are essential to our future—and both are rooted in relationships. A financially sustainable Leadership Montana ensures that we can continue bringing Montanans together to learn from one another, build meaningful connections, and practice the kind of collaboration and civility our communities need. And reconnecting with our alumni is an opportunity we’re especially excited about. Our alumni are the heart of this organization, and the relationships, experiences, and perspectives within this community are one of Leadership Montana’s greatest strengths.

In the months ahead, we look forward to reconnecting with you, listening to your ideas, and having conversations about how we can best serve our LMT family and the communities we call home. We want to know what is meaningful to you, where you see opportunities to connect, and how Leadership Montana can continue to be a resource and a community you’re proud to be part of.

Thank you for being part of this journey. We’re grateful for all you bring to Leadership Montana—and excited about what we can continue to build together.

Lead on, friends.
